Youth Ministry...

The Youth Ministry of Stony Hill Baptist Church exists to glorify God through the discipleship of our young people. After reaching them with the Gospel of Christ, we want to partner with parents to give them a solid biblical foundation and Christian worldview. In order to help our students live boldly for Christ, we provide opportunities for fellowship, encouragement, and accountability.

For the protection of our young people, all of our youth workers have completed our church’s Child Protection Requirements, which involve an orientation, basic training, and background check.

Youth Ministry Programs

  • Sunday School — All youth (Grades 6-12) are invited to Sunday School on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. In both the Middle School Youth class and the High School Youth class, students learn from the Student Life Bible Study. This curriculum helps students to see God’s mission in the world and for their individual lives, as they study a three-part series: (1) Christ: The Basis of Faith, (2) Character: Old Testament People and (3) Community: The Essence of Fellowship.

  • Youth Worship — Youth Worship takes place on Sunday nights from 7:00-8:00 pm in the FLC. Students get to know each other through icebreakers and games. They are confronted with the truth of the gospel through engaging worship, skits, and biblical teaching. One Sunday night a month, students are invited over to a host home for some snacks and additional fellowship following the service.

  • Mid-week Bible Study — Wednesday nights (from September through May) students participate in either Trek (grades 7 & 8) or Journey (grades 9-12) as part of our AWANA program. This time includes Bible Study, Scripture memorization, and games (including Dodgeball!). For more information, click here.

  • Fall Retreat — Each Fall, our students go on a weekend retreat, beginning on a Friday afternoon and lasting through Sunday afternoon. This weekend is packed full of solid biblical teaching, worship, fellowship, and fun, in order to challenge our students to live their lives as an act of worship on a daily basis.

  • Ski Trip — Each winter, the Youth ministry sponsors a single day ski trip. This trip is open to families and church members of any skill level. Its an early morning for sure but definitely worth the fun!

  • Camp — For one week during the summer, our 6th through 12th grade students descend upon Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters for a weeklong camp. This is a powerful week of preaching, teaching, worship, and outdoor recreation, including horseback riding, paintball, caving, rafting, ropes course, canoeing, and more.

  • Missions — It is our desire to have students who serve others through missions. Throughout the year, students are given opportunities to participate in missions both locally and nationally. Mission opportunities range from collecting items for those in financial need, to taking mission trips to reach those in need of hearing the message of Jesus Christ.
